Jaimie kept me so calm and I trusted her even though my doctor couldn’t be in the room during delivery.
Jaimie was my nurse during the delivery of my daughter. This was my first pregnancy and she was so calm the entire time. On the date I delivered at Lakeland Regional, four babies were born within 10 minutes of each other that afternoon. My doctor was finishing up with another patient when I was doing my final pushes. Jaimie stayed so calm and while I was pushing, she was getting everything ready for the doctor to come in. She was still coaching me through while setting up and BOOM! Here comes baby! Jaimie and my husband were the only two people in the room when my baby was born and I think about her every day! She kept me so calm and I trusted her even though my doctor couldn’t be in the room during delivery. I don’t think many first-time moms would have been as calm about a doctor not being there during delivery and honestly, I think I was only so calm because Jaimie was so calm. She was attentive throughout the whole process, not just delivery, and respected all of my wishes/needs during the birthing plan. I hope I have her as a nurse when I have my next baby!
