Maggie demonstrated exceptional knowledge, leadership, and professionalism during the entire shift.
Maggie is an exceptional charge nurse for W300. She is always easy to approach anytime her coworkers have a question, concern, or just simply need help. She always goes above and beyond her job description to make sure both her colleagues and patients are provided with everything needed to have a successful shift. She is firm in standing up for what is right and compassionate in her care of the unit and everyone in it. She is a true example of exactly what a charge nurse should be.
During a patient fall with severe injury, Maggie was the first to respond to the call for help. Not only did she take charge of the situation while providing extraordinary patient-centered care, but she also stayed with the nurse and patient until she knew the situation was handled properly. Maggie quickly reacted by establishing roles for the staff, delegating tasks, and informing rapid response. She also called to inform the family and was very efficient in providing the family with comfort and information during the ordeal. She also accompanied the nurse to CT and assisted the surgeon at bedside with sutures. Maggie demonstrated exceptional knowledge, leadership, and professionalism during the entire shift.
