There are nurses, and then there are nurses. I met a special nurse while at the Palos Hospital recently. When Becky Bylina entered the room with a "big smile" she carried a special aura of "I'm here to help you." She surveyed the area to see if the room was the right temperature; she checked to see if I was happy or not; if I had enough covers, etc. She performed the duties that she came in for and then wanted to know if there was anything else that she could do for me. It wasn't a matter of just asking - she really meant it. Becky exhibited professionalism with real intent and was passionate to serve the needs of the patient. When it came time for me to be released, she was going to be off for a couple of days, and she came by to wish me well and informed me that my next nurse was very nice and would be willing to help me in any way that might be needed.
