If not for the advocation of Priscilla regarding the changes seen in the patient, this would not have been identified and could have resulted in a catastrophic stroke.
Priscilla made my stay very comforting and helped me to get better. She communicates with me well, explaining as the day was going on what was happening. I can say that her kindness was very helpful. I’m very grateful to have her as my nurse.

The dedication and care of the patient are demonstrated by Priscilla by caring, compassionate care, advocating in different ways for her patients and families. One example of Priscilla's dedication is when she assumed care of a patient who had a negative head CT scan for any acute change. However, Priscilla presented the changes noted in the patient to the hospitalist. While initially focusing on cardiological process with a potential to discharge the patient if stress tests were negative. This led to a change in process and a neurological consult was obtain which then led to discovery of numerous acute changes. The patient received a follow up MRZ which identified a “dangerous basilar artery stenosis”.
