I wanted to take just a moment of your time to recognize this RN who was assisting my mother on Floor 3 yesterday. Mom is 83 and was admitted due to a fall at a nursing home with a fractured hip. This is her 2nd hip fracture and suffering major weight loss as well as increased dementia symptoms. This nurse was very professional, personable, and empathetic to Mom and our needs. She was excellent with us as well as her colleagues/team as I had the opportunity to listen to her “hand-off” to the night shift nurse. She was very thorough and accurate to ensure the staff would clearly understand any of the patient’s “one-off needs” to help comfort her before surgery today.

Recently, I have been in different hospitals and could see and hear the stress with some of the staff which was very disappointing. This makes a sensitive situation even more challenging when trying to navigate the system to ensure the best care is provided to a loved one. However, Bobbie seems to rise above all this. She is very knowledgeable, energetic, attentive, alert, as she provided excellent care to Mom.

I very much appreciate how you and your staff are helping my Mom as well as many others during these challenging times. I am very aware that you are on the front lines during these very challenging times helping NWA residents get back to a healthy life as quickly as possible.

However, it doesn’t just stop with this one story about Bobbie. When visiting with co-workers and other leaders, they always talk about Bobbie and how she “makes things happen” and takes care of our co-workers. She is always a co-worker advocate and a patient advocate. She truly believes in the “calling” of Mercy and does whatever is needed to take care of others. The word that is most often said to describe her is "selfless". Thank you Bobbie for ALL you do for our co-workers and patients in Mercy NWA.
