I recently had hip replacement surgery at IUH Saxony. During surgery, I coded and was transported with a ventilator to the ICU. During my stay, I had several nurses that not only saved my life because I coded three times but also took great care of my loved ones who had to witness these events. Angela was my day nurse who had the difficult task of taking care of me as I became delirious and made her help me battle with the devil. She never got frustrated with my unusual requests and soothed me by holding my hand for long periods of time as I tried to decipher between what was real and what was not. I had so many great nurses who saved my life and I will forever be grateful, but I would like to say a special thanks to Angela for saving my soul.
