I had just come up from surgery and ordered my lunch. Dietary delivered my meal or someone’s meal since it was incorrect. I called to try and resolve the issue.  I called Administration and spoke to Julie. She made a call and got me my original lunch order within minutes. A short time later, my phone rang, and it was Julie. Dietary did not have fruit for my fruit cup or a blueberry muffin. Julie took the initiative to make me a wonderful fruit plate (oversized too, if I might add). She arranged the fruit on the plate as if it was going for a photoshoot to be on a menu. She proceeded to apologize for not being able to find a blueberry muffin.  I had a horrible day until that point, but Julie literally changed my entire day by doing what she did. She made me smile and literally brought tears to my eyes by showing me that there are still good people left in this world.

Julie is most definitely one of those people and ranks at the top of the list. Julie is an amazing lady. She has a kind heart and a wonderful spirit that just radiates from her. I’ve never had anybody go to the extent of what she did for anything while I’ve been here or anywhere else for that matter. I’ve spent a great deal of time being cared for here at Mercy West. I can say I’ve spent at least 90 days and had 21 surgeries in the past 8 years here at Mercy West and nobody has come close to making my day better, making me smile and tears of joy like Julie did that day by her selfless actions. She more than deserves a hug and public recognition for her actions and for things she probably has done that nobody has come forward to praise and thank her.
