Late in the evening, we had a case come to the operating room emergently. Adam Wright was ending his 12-hour day shift at 7 pm. He stayed over to assist with the case and performed above and beyond all expectations. He assisted the surgeon in troubleshooting problems with the shavers we used and in keeping the Arista in stock, he emailed the resource for ENT to ask them to change the preference cards to reflect the updates. Adam stayed to ensure the team had everything that they needed and that the patient had the best possible outcome.

Additionally, he supported his staff on the night shift with a very qualified extra pair of hands and wisdom. Adam has truly stepped up in his role as a CTL and demonstrates ownership and collaboration every time he shows up to work. When Adam goes down to the ED when trauma comes in, he constantly communicates to the team upstairs so that the appropriate sets are opened and everything is in place and ready to go for the patient when they arrive. We all know that when he is in charge, we are in excellent hands. Adam made a difference this night for the patient, his staff, and myself. It is for these reasons that I believe Adam is the perfect candidate for The DAISY Award.
