I would like to thank Carrie Frantz for her care and compassion during my hospital stay at Penn Highlands Elk. I was diagnosed with Covid and I was in isolation for 10 days. When I came out of isolation, I was eager to see my family. I was disoriented and confused. Carrie was very understanding and assured me this was a temporary thing. I also was having a lot of pain in my legs. Carrie was very concerned about this and talked to my doctor. I was found to have blood clots in both legs. My wife was very sensitive to my being isolated and talked to Carrie about how long she should stay and such. Carried assured her that being here was a good thing and to feel free to stay as long as my wife wanted. Carrie kept my wife informed of my condition and reassured her the confusion would subside. Carrie even stayed over her shift to care for me. She is a very caring and compassionate nurse. We need more like her. I feel she went above and beyond for myself and my wife.
