Amanda is such a caring and compassionate nurse. She truly has a heart of gold. She always goes the extra mile for her patients. Amanda went above and beyond for a patient recently. She was the charge nurse this day. This was during the peak of COVID season when the hospital had a no visitor policy. The patient was trach patient. The patient had a 15-year-old special needs daughter whom she desperately missed and wanted to see. Amanda could tell that it was upsetting to the patient that she could not see her daughter. Amanda worked diligently to arrange so the patient could see her daughter. She knew it would mean a lot to her. Since the child could not come into the hospital to see her mother, Amanda set it up so the child's father could bring the child outside to the front of the hospital to briefly visit the patient. She got permission from the doctors to take the patient outside with a monitor and oxygen so she could see her daughter. This was a difficult task because the patient had a trach so certain precautions were in place. Amanda did this with such joy and a smile on her face the entire time. This meant the world to that patient and her daughter to be able to see each other. The patient went on about it for days about how caring and compassionate of a nurse Amanda is. Amanda went above and beyond the call of duty that day and does so always.
