Kim sat with him, talking to him, placed a cool cloth on his head, and held his hand until he calmed down.
Kim makes us all family. Kim is our charge nurse in the recovery room. She consistently follows the vision of our hospital system by extending the healing ministry of Christ. She treats everyone- her staff, coworkers, management, patients, family, and support staff with respect, compassion, and unfailing kindness.

My patient woke up from anesthesia anxious, restless, confused. She sat with him, talking to him, placed a cool cloth on his head, and held his hand until he calmed down. She does this with any patient who needs extra time and attention, so the assigned nurse can be free to give medications, etc.

When families call searching for patients- she immediately looks for them to help with their inquiry and put their minds at ease.

Recently we had a family member of a nurse pass, she took charge of any collection and flowers for this coworker and any who have sadness, illness, or happy occasion and ensures that they know our team is there for them.

Kim is the first one into the unit in the morning and the last to leave every day as she makes sure that all her staff and all the patients are taken care of and patients are placed with room assignments. She comes to every bed when a new patient is rolled in to help the nurse and check the patient with her critical knowledge to ensure safety. She is always helping others with a positive attitude. There is not enough room to write all of her positive attributes. Kim is the heart and soul of our unit.
