Jessica was astounding and made my hospital stay a pleasurable experience, and left a mark on my heart.
Jessica was my nurse during my stay here at the hospital and I couldn't have hand-picked a more exceptional nurse myself. Being in the hospital as a patient is certainly not what anyone wants, yet this nurse made my experience a beyond amazing one. Jessica is a nurse but in my eyes an absolute HERO! Not all heroes wear capes, some wear scrubs! I needed for nothing during her shifts. I was actually transported from my hometown over 2 hours away and came in on her shift. She greeted me kindly, informed me of each and everything that was going to happen, and did so with great knowledge of what was going on. She made me feel safe and welcomed even in my moments of fear and the unknown. She left no stone unturned. Honestly, I dreaded when the time came that her shift was over.
On my last night's stay here I had an "episode" in my sleep around 4:30 AM, my blood sugar dropped down to 33! Jessica was already coming in to do vitals on me and that's when she realized I wasn't doing well. She was extremely proactive and attentive to the situation by bringing juice and medication to get my blood sugar back to a normal level and all the while kneeling down to my bedside, not leaving my side all the while SHE was apologizing to me! With all of this occurring, she still found it in her heart to comfort my mother who was staying in the room with me. She was informing her as well of everything that was going on and what she was doing. When I came to it, I could see the compassion yet fear in her eyes although I could see that she held her composure.
All in all, Jessica was astounding and made my hospital stay a pleasurable experience, and left a mark on my heart. The hospital needs more nurses like Jessica. Thanks for having her as a nurse because I sure needed her care while here.
