Ryan is one of those nurses that you can always see moving and doing the most that he can for not only his patients but for other staff as well. Any patient I've had after Ryan, or have had him help with, always sings his praises. But outside of the exceptional patient care that he gives, he excels in being a team player on the floor.

For several experiences I have had, Ryan has been there. Between helping to hand out meds on the floor, assisting to take other patients for walks, helping with COVID rooms, or even taking extra drinks to people, you can always count on him. The accountability he shows as a team member is one I have never seen before. He is always the first to be there when you ask for a hand and always comes to work with a smile on his face and a positive attitude. The joy he brings on the floor helps us to keep our spirits up.

Even though he’s a new grad, he never shies away from sharing the knowledge he has and is never scared to get his hands dirty. If there are any rapids or codes called on the floor, you bet Ryan will be in the room. His natural ability and determination to go above and beyond for all patients and staff is the reason why I believe he is a DAISY Nurse.

Ryan is consistently recognized by both patients and peers for his kindness, patience, and support. I had a patient with significant nausea tell me how Ryan came in and took the time to sit with her and rub her back while she was feeling awful, and other patients that just comment on how kind and what a great nurse he is.

Ryan has picked up shifts on days off and has come in early and stayed late working double shifts. He offers help to his peers every day and is always smiling! I am so excited for him to start precepting and demonstrate this amazing work ethic to new onboarding nurses. Ryan genuinely supports the hospital’s vision and values and uses caring behaviors in all of his interactions!
