It took Lili months of dedication and research to find a doctor.
I am a disabled veteran that is in need of VA care and special attention due to my physical disability. My patient advocate took the time to listen and guide me through the primary care doctors who understood my special needs and the urgency for my operation. The injury started to affect my body. I had already gone through bi-lateral hip surgery and suffered from other ailments due to my leg malunion. The operation I needed is called clamshell osteotomy. My advocate referred me to VA out care and that's when Lili began to research doctors. It took her months of dedication and research to find a doctor. One in New York, but did not accept the insurance and Lili finally found one in Illinois! My operation was unique because only two doctors in the nation were qualified to perform it. As I recover from this surgery and undergo rehab I would like to thank them both for their heartfelt concern and dedication. My future healthcare needs depend on VA employees like my advocate and Lili. Employees like them make it reassuring to Veterans that they are able to receive the kind of care they need. I don't think I could have been successful in receiving this operation without their hard work.
