Tina is an exceptional nurse and she goes out of her way to make sure patients are taken care of. Our department is mostly made of nurses who commute in so only a few are close by. Not only that but our NICU designation is level 2 which is comparable to a special care nursery, not a true NICU. We don't get much experience caring for these critical newborns. Every staff member knows that Tina is a resource anytime we need her for a critically ill baby who needs a higher level of care. Her critical thinking skills are on point and she performs as if she has had years and years of experience in the setting. If she is available she will come at the drop of a hat day or night for as long as she is needed even if she worked a shift before or after. Because of that she has been involved in several emergent events with poor outcomes. Yet she still comes in and takes excellent care of not only these patients but supports her fellow staff by being a resource and safety net for them. She is a true example of going above and beyond!
