I have never in my life come across such an amazing caring, above-the-top nurse like Dakota. My husband B was taken to the ER then sent to the fifth floor ICU. I was in Ohio with my mom who was having heart issues at the time. I was so upset and not sure exactly what was going on. B said, "My nurse will call you" and then I get the call from Dakota. She was so very kind and caring telling me what was going on. I told her I would leave the next morning to head back to Tennessee. I was sobbing and she reassured me she would take care of him and she did!

When I arrived she explained to me what was going on and when I didn't understand she explained it to me and comforted me as if I were her family. She continued to go above and beyond the entire five days he was in ICU. She always checked on us even if she was not our nurse that day. Every single day she was there for both of us. The day they moved him to step down she was there to take me to where he was when she should have been heading home after a 12-hour shift.

She went above and beyond for both of us and I have never come across such a loving, caring, and compassionate nurse like Dakota! Everyone should have this kind of a nurse and she made us feel as if she was treating one of her own family. She is truly a phenomenal nurse without a doubt and she truly deserves to be recognized as a DAISY Nurse.
