Gail comes to work every day with the intention of providing the best care possible for her patients. She is non-judgemental no matter how difficult things can be. What I enjoy most is that she is flexible in every way. On arrival, she will call for her assignment if there is extra staff in her house. She always volunteers to take the pull and go anywhere without a blink of an eye. Her Christian life has allowed her to care for all people in a caring way. She is always pleasant and will come to work on her days off if I am in need. She is one of my go-to people when I am in a pickle. She is happy and laughs a lot. She is such a pleasant person to be around. The patients enjoy having her take care of them. “She listens to me.” I know when Gail is here, I have no worries about the areas she is in. She has dedicated 34 years to our Veterans and that says a lot. She trained me when I came here. I felt like I could do anything. She is a great preceptor and stays true to herself. What she does daily is expected of her because she does it every day. I don’t want this to go unnoticed. She is everything a nurse should be.

Gail is an RN who displays the ICARE values in everything she does. She may be working one night in our geriatric care units or the acute medicine unit. No matter where she works, she gives 100% of herself to her Veterans and coworkers. Gail will assist a nursing assistant with hands-on care, pass meds, sit with a Veteran, talk to a family member. Whatever is needed Gail is there to help. Gail exemplifies

Gail is always going the extra mile for our Veterans and employees. One night I was having problems with the phone and I called her she took care of the situation and I couldn’t thank her enough. Gail is always wonderful with computers. The computers break down and Gail fixes it. She never says no and is always willing to help out wherever needed.
