Leanna's trust was built very quickly to the point that my husband was sad when she had days off.
Trauma is extremely stressful to the patient and the family. With burn trauma, the pain is excruciating from the time of injury, debriding, dressing changes, and every minute in between. Leanna demonstrates all the attributes of petal ensuring the patients and the family are well taken care of.

Passion- Leanna demonstrates passion with her competent skills and ability to educate the family about treatment, stats, well-being of the patient along with the patient to educate nursing students.

Empathy – Leanna constantly checked in on the patient and the family when coffee was requested, she offered to use her own money and buy coffee for the patient and family to meet the request.

Trust- one of the most painful processes after surgery for burn patients is dressing changes, especially the donor site dressing. Leanna took her time to listen to the patient and ensured this was done in the most caring way possible so she is trusted by the patient and the family. Her trust was built very quickly to the point that my husband was sad when she had days off.

Admirable – it was very evident that Leanna is well respected on this floor she has such a positive and happy attitude that it is infectious and helps both the patient and family.

Love- Leanna has such a personable charm that she resonates her love for the job and patients every shift. She takes time to get to know the patient and family and shares her love by sitting to listen, talk, guide, and educate even when her patient load for the shift was maxed out.

Selflessness- Leanna always makes sure the patient comes first. In one of her 12-hour shifts, she did not take her break until 10 hours into the shift to make sure all of her patients and families were well taken care of.
