Devyn took care of my niece on 5 north. She was so thoughtful with her in a time of uncertainty for her. The doctors gave an abrupt possible diagnosis which scared my niece. Devyn could see how frightened she was and explained that the test wasn’t completed and we should wait and see. She took her time to keep checking on her throughout her stay even when she wasn’t her nurse. The day she had the scare from the doctors which wasn’t even the right diagnosis, Devyn went and bought her a bunch of thoughtful items from the gift shop. Some included items so she could shower (nice shampoo, body lotion, and hair items) and feel better. She got her a balloon and wrote her a sweet card. She also got some of her favorite snacks. I then found out from another employee that this was something Devyn enjoyed doing for her patients with her own money to try and make their stay a little more enjoyable and put a smile on their faces. I was so impressed with these gestures I myself went out and bought a bag of bath and body products so that Devyn wouldn’t have to use her own money and still put a smile on her patients' faces. She really is an inspiration and you are lucky to have her in your organization.
