Janelle went to bat for us, understanding the rules, but also weighing our concerns.
My husband was in the hospital for four days. He was admitted with low oxygen, shortness of breath, and zero energy. Our primary doctor sent him directly from her office to the Emergency Department. It was a scary event for us. He was admitted and moved to a room during a period of about 30 minutes when I had gone to the car for a rest.

When I came back into the Emergency Room, they informed me that my husband had been moved and that I could not be with him. Finally, I was given permission to go up to his room but was informed that I would not be able to stay with him, other than during visiting hours.

The next morning, a nurse named Janelle came in with a student nurse. She was explaining things in such detail, we were impressed. They were providing very good care. I asked if I could explain how we were feeling because I wasn't going to be allowed to stay at night. Janelle said that she would see what she could do. She soon came back and said she had talked with her supervisor, explaining our concerns, and that I was going to be allowed to stay. Janelle went to bat for us, understanding the rules, but also weighing our concerns. She listened to my reasons for wanting to stay and made it happen. Her care, teaching, communication, and consideration went above and beyond anyone else we had encountered. She made us feel cared for. Her personality was friendly and she was positive and encouraging.
