When we had to have a very difficult family meeting, Siobhan was there sitting right next to my stepdaughter making sure she was ok which meant a lot to us.
My Husband ā€œVā€ was med flighted from an outside hospital to Mass General at the beginning of August. V was a patient on Blake-7 for a month. He had so many wonderful nurses who took excellent care of him. The person who went above and beyond was nurse Siobhan. She was the first person to ask us about V and what kind of person he was, what he liked to do, and what were some of his favorite things. My stepdaughter and I really appreciated that she took the time to get to know the person she was caring for. Also, when we had to have a very difficult family meeting, she was there sitting right next to my stepdaughter making sure she was ok which meant a lot to us.

One night when I called to do my nightly checkup she asked if she could ask me a personal question. Siobhan wanted to know if V liked a full beard or liked to be clean-shaven. I told her he was a man who usually had a goatee and when we came to visit him the next day, he was shaven and had a goatee. She was always pleasant and stayed positive which made us feel comforted when we had to leave him.

We greatly appreciate how she cared for V and felt blessed to have her as his nurse. We are honored to have met her and wish her the best in life. On another note, V is doing wonderful, he was transferred to rehab and has an expected discharge date! We thank you all for the wonderful care and are so grateful that he was sent to Mass General.
