Lindsey took one glance and told me it’s okay not to be okay. She looked deeper and saw that I was really in trouble.
I want to nominate my nurse because she embodies the word "caretaker" and is a person who is meant to be in their profession. I came to be at Stormont Vail Health to give birth to my son. I was already stressed due to having to follow all the COVID-19 guidelines/limitations, having a C-section, and being alone while doing the above. I was unhappy in spite of the celebrated birth of my son and a successful C-section. I was notified that my son was jaundiced and would require additional days to be treated. I was distraught and instantly worried. Nurses came in and out, all asking the same question, "Are you okay, do you need anything else?", but Lindsey took one glance and told me it’s okay not to be okay. She looked deeper and saw that I was really in trouble. She helped me get the help I needed to be useful to myself and my family. She helped me focus on the right thing, to be grateful. She helped me see light when everything seemed closing in and dark. She is truly an asset to SV. I'm glad to have met her. She threw out a lifeline right in the nick of time!
