We held hands and cried for our losses, yet we knew we would see our beautiful daughters again someday.
I was a patient recently at SRMH for fluid around my heart. As if this wasn’t enough, I had just lost my daughter to COVID. She was only 54 years old. During my stay one evening I was talking to my doctor and telling him about my daughter. Little did I know that Dana was passing at that precise time. After the doctor left, she came into my room and sat down next to my bed. She began by telling me she had also lost her daughter and that she was only 20 years old. Her husband was also in the accident lost part of his leg. We held hands and cried for our losses, yet we knew we would see our beautiful daughters again someday. She then showed me pictures of her beautiful family – many included the daughter. I cannot put into words how much her sharing meant to me. Just talking and crying together was so heartwarming. Just the two of us sharing our loss was so uplifting. Thank you, Dana, for your loving and sharing with me.
