I feel Jess is continually active in delivering excellent nursing care and practice accountability.
Jess came to the 5th floor as a Unit Charge Nurse, since her beginning, she has bought excellence to the unit. Recently, Jess took on the unit educator role in addition to unit charge duties. She organized the education requirements and quickly educated and completed annual check offs. Jess also initiated our unit practice council by designing our bylaws and monthly meetings. This has increased staff involvement and accountability to the unit.
Jess is very engaged with the people she works with. Jess has started many staff recognition programs for the unit. She created a suggestion box, employee of the month box, and created a new birthday board. All these programs have increased staff involvement and satisfaction. She also heads the Sunshine Club that gives flowers, cards, etc. for employees who have been out of work for a variety of issues.
In her continued pursuit of excellence, Jess is actively in school completing her degree in hospital administration. I feel Jess is continually active in delivering excellent nursing care and practice accountability. She is compassionate, yet direct. These are skills that she uses with our patients as well as our staff. Patients speak highly of her care and her concern for their needs.
