Isaiah is really special because he was there with my family during one of the most difficult times that we have experienced. Our mother was very ill and he took such wonderful care of her during her last moments. Isaiah had a feeling that mom was not doing well and called us to ensure that my family was present when she passed. During the night we interacted with a doctor. Isaiah came to the room during one of these encounters, truly listened to what we had to say, and then went to bat for us with the doctor. He helped to ensure that mom was comfortable and without pain during her final moments. He not only took care of mom, who was his patient but also cared for us by ensuring there were enough seats, we had water or coffee, and that we understood each step that he was taking to care for our mom. He was truly a light in an otherwise dark experience. UHS is lucky to have a nurse that is as caring, compassionate, and intelligent.
