While there are many, many examples that one could provide to detail Ethel's commitment to the patients, there is one ultimate example that stands out. Ether was the relief charge nurse and had received news of her brother's passing in the Philippines. The unit was already suffering a lack of insufficient nurses that rather than going home to mourn the passing of her brother, she decided to stay and care for the patients already in the unit that truly needed her compassionate care. Ethel is an extraordinary nurse and an even more extraordinary human being. The Labor and Delivery Unit adores Ethel and feels incredibly grateful to have such a special woman be part of our team.
