During this last year, we have all had a tough time with the pandemic. Jenn has shown resiliency throughout and continued to be a role model for the hospital. On any given day Jenn is willing to step up and do what is needed for the employees and the patients. During the time of the COVID 19 unit, she would pick up shifts to flex and help as an extender, on top of her normal scheduled shifts. She also volunteered in the vaccine tent that was kept at South Meadows.

One of the biggest things that Jenn deserves to be recognized for is her compassion for the patients. During a really tough time, Jenn would go into the COVID unit and help patients get on zoom to say goodbye to their loved ones. Watching a patient die is never an easy thing, and to have somebody say goodbye over zoom is also very hard to do. Jenn did this on more than one occasion to help out the nurses and to also give the families closure during this time. She picked up extra shifts, stayed later than her shift end time, and never once complained. People choose compassion even when they are compassion fatigued, and Jenn is a prime example of that.

Jenn has always been an excellent nurse advocate, always checking in and making sure nursing staff has what they need and is always available for any issues staff may have. She goes out of her way to help ICU when critical situations arise and is always right by our side, available to jump in and help out without question. Jenn is an exceptional leader and sets a great example for the other leaders. I am always thankful to have Jenn by my side and feel supported by her any day I work with her. Having some extremely busy short-staffed days, especially during our coronavirus surges, I’m not sure how I would’ve gotten through them without Jenn as part of our team. I would like to thank Jenn for everything she does and I hope she knows how much she is appreciated.
