Tabatha is quick to bring up someone’s spirits when they are struggling, she has a positive outlook on situations and brings a smile to those she works with.
Tabatha Hill recently transferred to 9E from pediatrics and has been a gift to the unit. Tabatha embodies the idea of teamwork. When another RN had a patient pass at 18:50, she was feeling overwhelmed and spent for the day. Tabatha jumped in to help her fill out the death record, called the physician and Gift of Life, and also rallied other staff to help complete the End of Life Care so the room RN could complete other tasks so that the patient was ready to be transferred to the morgue by 19:30 when shift was ending. This would not have been possible if she had not jumped in to help.

On another occasion, the unit only had 1 CNA on the floor. Instead of all of the nurses getting their own vitals and the CNA just concentrating on glucometers, Tabatha asked the CNA to do one half of the unit and she completed the other half - all still while having an assignment of her own. This is a great example of teamwork and leadership.

As far as patient care goes, Tabatha has also gone above and beyond to learn something new that she is unfamiliar with. When the Continuous PD went live on the unit, she asked the PD nurse everything she could to understand what the process was and what she needed to know to care for that particular patient.

She is very thorough with her patients and their care, all the way through to discharge. She is also quick to bring up someone’s spirits when they are struggling, she has a positive outlook on situations and brings a smile to those she works with. We believe that Tabatha is a DAISY Nurse because she leads by example, jumps in to help fellow co-workers in this time that everyone is struggling with burn out and does not pass the buck when something needs to be done!
