This young lady deserves all the praise and recognition a patient can give. I was so blessed to have Katelyn as my nurse after surgery. She did an excellent job of helping me cope with extreme feelings of anxiety and depression. She had a way of communication that helped me alleviate my concerns and negative thoughts. Katelyn has a positive attitude that would help any person feel better and help with the healing process. Whenever she had time with her busy workload, she would come into my room to “hang out with me” as she would say. I looked forward to her visits.

Katelyn is a great patient advocate. She would stop in and check on my well-being when she arrived at work, and then again at the end of her shift. She would stop to say goodbye and tell me when she would be working again. One day she surprised me by showing up unexpectedly, as she was covering an extra shift. It takes a special person to care for a patient like she does. She also excels in teamwork and cares about her coworkers as much as she does her patients. I observed her helping with other patients, even with her own heavy workload. She arrived early and stayed late to help when needed, always ready to support her team.

Katelyn is a very special person and makes a difference in how patients feel about their care and their own recovery. I think of her as my guardian angel, and I am sure other patients do as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
