Despite my understanding of the medical procedure I was about to undergo, I was stressed and anxious. Allyssa observed all of this and every step that she took helped to alleviate that anxiety. While many may say that this is her job, the time she spent informing me of every step that was going to happen, while also taking my mind off of the upcoming surgery and caring for another patient was amazing. She uplifted me, educated me, and not to mention was able to obtain my IV on the first attempt (which never occurs). Allyssa was the beginning of a great experience I had that day, but she stood out of the crowd by demonstrating compassion for me and what I was experiencing and also was so extremely knowledgeable so that I could get all of my questions answered. She did not assume that I knew something and thoroughly explained every action and why every person was coming behind that curtain. She made all the difference in my experience that day and I am forever grateful.
