She empathetically listens to patient concerns, allays their anxieties, and develops patient-centered care plans.
There isn't just one situation that comes to mind as to why Christine Baglio is a DAISY Nurse. Christine demonstrates all of the listed values with every patient or staff interaction. She is a thorough and compassionate nurse who is always willing to help out regardless of how busy she is. Whenever I go into her office her first response is - how can I help you? (with a smile). Her willingness to help and her can-do spirit makes working with her a real joy. Christine's reliability is a true asset; I know that when she says she'll follow up on something that it will be done and a message will be sent with the result before I can even get back to my desk.
She frequently goes above and beyond to provide excellent patient care. There are many examples of Christine chasing down paperwork, repeatedly calling patients to check in on their mood or other symptoms, calling outside institutions to help patients navigate other systems, and providing a listening ear to someone who really needed it. She takes ownership of our patients, especially our prenatal patients. She empathetically listens to patient concerns, allays their anxieties, develops patient-centered care plans, asks questions of colleagues when she's not sure what to do next, and schedules follow-up in a timely fashion. She reviews ultrasound and test results routinely and patiently provides counseling when there is an unexpected result. I can only hope that I get such a kind nurse when I get an unanticipated result. If a patient who called with a triage question doesn't answer the phone right away, Christine will keep calling until she gets in touch. I appreciate her tenacity in closing the loop to ensure patient concerns are addressed.
Christine is a true patient champion. For example, during blood pressure nurse visits she listens carefully to patients' questions and advocates for their needs with a note to the referring clinician. I count myself lucky to work with Christine and it's my pleasure to recognize her.
