I was admitted to Ascension Seton Hays for Sepsis due to a tunneled Central line that I have had for many years now. I was diagnosed at 21 with a hereditary blood disorder. Due to this, I have a permanent IV for medications, infusions, and transfusions. Brian came to get me to Interventional Radiology to have my central line removed. I was in the middle of an anxiety attack and Brian waited patiently and talked me through the procedure. Due to my medical past, I have increased anxiety. Brian took the time to make me feel comfortable and treated me like family. He took the time to put a warm blanket on the table and got one for me too. I was unable to be sedated so Brian made sure that there was a gap in the drape so he could see me. He respected my modesty and explained everything so I would not be startled. He is truly a patient advocate and I felt like my health and my life were safe in his hands.

I had to have a 2nd surgery and thankfully Brian was there with me on that day too. He kept me calm, advocated for additional medication, and offered the comforting touch that I needed to push through. Having surgical complications is always scary, but with Brian by my side, I knew that I would pull through and be reunited with my husband and my family.
