Ricki drove the patient’s car, filled it with gas, and went to Walmart to purchase clothes for the patient to wear home in addition to groceries.
Ricki was redeployed to the Telemetry unit to help with patient care during the Covid surge. In September, Ricki was discharging an elderly patient who could still drive but did not have gas in her car or money to get home. She drove the patient’s car, filled it with gas, and went to Walmart to purchase clothes for the patient to wear home in addition to groceries. The patient was so appreciative, she could not stop crying. At the end of Ricki’s shift, she then followed the patient home, carried the groceries inside, and made sure she was settled and safe.
This is truly one of the most touching moments and acts of kindness and compassion that I have seen in a while. Ricki’s dedication to patient care is above and beyond exceptional. Ricki truly made a difference in this patient’s life.
