Mandy would write things like "good morning sunshine" on my water cup so it was the first thing I saw when I woke up.
I was brought into the hospital for idiopathic intracranial hypertension. Mandy was absolutely amazing. I was so scared since I have never stayed in the hospital overnight before and my husband could not stay with me because of Covid rules. Mandy constantly checked on me and talked to me and made me feel safe. Mandy also left me little notes when I was asleep during a shift change so she didn’t wake me to say goodbye. She would write things like "good morning sunshine" on my water cup so it was the first thing I saw when I woke up. She also made sure I understood what each test was for and what my results meant. She would sit down and go through everything with me, so I knew everything about my health. Mandy also helped me through panic attacks. I have always suffered from nightmares and I had one my first night in the hospital. Mandy was not only my nurse during those three nights, but she was my friend. I have never met someone with so much compassion for their patients, knowledge of what they are doing, and an overall passion for what they do day in and day out. Mandy is truly one of a kind.
