Jennifer made us feel seen, and that was so important for us. Being a same-sex couple, we were worried about our birth experience because we often encounter awkward interactions and frustration in the medical setting. But Jennifer went above and beyond in her attentiveness, thoroughness, support, and knowledge. While unsure if we wanted an epidural, in a very professional way, Jenn gave insights into both options. Because of her, we were able to make an informed decision. My wife had the need to do something with her hands during her contractions, and when Jenn couldn’t find a stress ball, she got creative and came back with a sheet of bubble wrap. It worked wonders! She cared enough about our needs that she passed this information along to the next nurse and told her where to find the bubble wrap in case we needed more. This may seem trivial, but it was so important to us. The connection she made with us helped us feel safe and heard. Her care-filled coaching helped us have such a positive birth experience. And we were excited and appreciative when she stopped by before our discharge to meet our baby. Jennifer is very deserving of this award.
