Lucy is an exceptional member of the Alexian Brothers Medical Center Nursing team. She is a part of our VAT team and appreciated by so many of her patients and peers. One floor recently recognized her with the following example. We had a patient with a late discharge order who needed to have their PICC line removed.  The supervisor on that evening was unable to assist at the time.  Lucy was called at home and asked to come in to remove the PICC line.  She drove to the hospital and came in just to remove the PICC line so that the patient could be discharged that night and we were able to admit another patient to the room at a time when every bed is needed. This is not the first time she has done this and shows her dedication to the patients. The team is appreciative of her every day.
