Jaime told me to have faith that things were going to get better and she asked me if maybe I wanted to talk to a pastor or someone spiritual.
In August I arrived at the hospital. I had to be in ICU. It was a very bad time. I have a lot of faith in God, but my faith was lost. I went into an emotional state that was worse than what was physically happening to me. I entered a dark place where I only knew that I was breathing and was alive, but emotionally I was lost along with my faith.

After a few days, they put me on the 6th floor and I met Jaime. She is very kind and an excellent nurse. As the days went by we talked a little more and she was always very positive that everything would be fine. (I'm waiting for a liver transplant.) I only listened to her until one day I found myself crying in my room and she asked me if there was anything she could do. I just told her that I was in a dark and hopeless place. That despite believing in God, I couldn't even pray, and she listened to me and then spoke to me. She told me to have faith that things were going to get better and she asked me if maybe I wanted to talk to a pastor or someone spiritual and I said yes. That same afternoon, a pastor came to talk to me. She kept informing me of everything that happened with my health and told me that my task was to try to eat and walk so that I could be strong for the transplant; that that was my job that the rest was the work of God and the doctors. She also promised me a little wheelchair ride to a garden so I could breathe fresh air.

After that day and with the help of God and Jaime, I was able to get out of that dark place where I had no hope and now I try to think about her advice; eat the best you can and walk, the rest is the work of the doctors and God. Being a good nurse is great. But being a person who can see the pain and help, not only improve your body but also your emotions and your faith, is something that is priceless and that I know I will never forget Jaime the angel who not only helped me heal my body but also heal my spirits and gave me back my faith in God, in life and in doctors.
