I saw Giorgio give strength and encourage a patient after she had a breakdown of tears by making her smile again. I saw Giorgio take charge of the care needs of his patients with sincere empathy, responding positively and promptly, fully embodying the mission of ISMETT, always putting the patient at the center and in compliance with the established policies. He assisted two patients in their first out-of-bed mobilization by promoting the humanization of care and fast-track programs. I have seen the gaze of his patients change and insecurity turn into serenity. When a nurse manages to do this he has already won and what is ordinary becomes extraordinary.
