Amber was completely relatable. She helped me deal with these fears through joking and sarcasm.
Amber was my nurse for three days in a row during my induction and the birth of my daughter. During my labor, it felt that everything that could go wrong went wrong. From pre-eclampsia and a magnesium drip to bleeding during labor and having to emergently go to the OR. Amber made the 2 and ½ days of bed rest because of the magnesium drip bearable. She let me stand at the bedside, which I would never have realized would be something I missed. I am a nurse in the SICU at Rochester General and I had always been afraid of everything that could go wrong during labor and would end up in SICU. Amber was able to talk me out of my crazy thinking. She was completely relatable. She helped me deal with these fears through joking and sarcasm. She was super supportive when I was pushing and things were starting to go wrong. She was also super supportive to my husband making sure he ate and was comfortable. After leaving 3800, Amber came to visit us on Sands 300. She happened to stop by a couple of minutes after finding out our daughter would have to go to NICU. She was supportive then, reassuring us that everything would be fine. When we came back to our room after seeing our daughter in the NICU there was a knitted bunny hat for our daughter and a note that it was from Amber (Easter was soon). It made a horrible situation slightly better and we were able to take a picture of our daughter on Easter dressed up.
