When our twin sons were admitted for a potential ingestion, my husband and I were feeling all the emotions you would expect. We were terrified, overwhelmed, and incredibly anxious. When CS started to show signs of an overdose, we were so lucky to have Alyse as our nurse. Over the first twelve hours, Alyse expertly cared for both of our critically ill boys and my husband and me. She showed great skills, acting quickly to protect his airway and get extra support. She remained calm, keeping us informed along the way. She spent almost the entire night in our room drawing labs, retaping leads, retaping oxygen, and then starting it all over again. By morning we were all weary and tired. Alyse was too, but her kind and patient tone never wavered. That night is something I hoped to never experience, but we all survived thanks to Alyse. She deserves all the recognition for her kind soul.
