Jackie became a strong advocate for my mother's treatment and that fact will never be forgotten by me.
My mother was admitted into Parkwest in September. Countless times throughout my mother's hospital stay, Jackie was her CCU nurse, which I can honestly say I wish she could have had her every single day. I had faith in Jackie, the high level of nursing care she provided, her ‘old school nursing ways’, which were deeply appreciated, and knew she never lost sight of the fact that the nursing profession is an all-encompassing profession. We all know an exceptional nurse tries to be a game-changer for a patient and one who ‘nurses’ the whole person, not just focusing on one or two different aspects of care, while also answering countless questions from family members, mostly me in this case, and that nurse is Jackie. Jackie became a strong advocate for my mother's treatment and that fact will never be forgotten by me. I am deeply appreciative and full of gratitude. Her strong advocacy skills helped my mother and when I say this, I mean it, I have a grateful heart towards her. Please consider Jackie for not only this award because she is most deserving, but please also talk with her to see if she would be interested in reminding other nurses what patient care was like pre-COVID and the need for it to revert back. I can attest to the fact that other families will benefit from Jackie teaching, and perhaps even reminding, other nurses about the necessity of compassion, empathy, sympathy, knowledge, and level of understanding she bestowed upon my family.
