Thanks to Meghan’s amazing support to guidance, I am almost able to exclusively breastfeed.
I had my 4th baby and was later discharged. I think because it was my 4th child, it was assumed that all was okay. However, we were re-admitted due to a 14.9% weight loss. I’d been saying from day one that there was a weird noise when my baby was fed as she could not stay latched on long enough. On Day 2 of my struggles in the hospital, my good friend and amazing midwife, L, suggested I ask for Meghan to visit me on the ward.

Meghan came and was just amazing. She put a plan in place to help me continue breastfeeding, whereas the doctor in charge wanted me to bottle feed. Although Meghan recognized I was experienced at breastfeeding, having breastfed my other 3 children, she accepted that I was crying out for help as this baby was hard to feed! Meghan quickly found a tongue tie and organized a surgeon to come straight away! After this, it was no longer painful to feed her and she could latch a bit better too. Since my discharge, my little girl has been gaining weight slowly and has been mostly breastfeeding with top-ups of expressed milk and a little formula, but we still had ups and downs with latching despite this. Meghan has been so supportive over text, phone, and even facetime, so I could show her my progress and would be able to advise me of what to do next. Thanks to Meghan’s amazing support to guidance, I am almost able to exclusively breastfeed. Thank you so much, Meghan!
