Terri is an exceptional nurse for going above and beyond for our team and patients. South Ed had an intubated patient who was needing a transfer to a facility in Lubbock. The charge nurse was trying to find transport but was denied by two aircrews. SAFD had two volunteers offer to drive the patient. Shannon South only had minimal staffing and did not have a nurse to spare. Terri was on shift at Main ED when she heard about the issue. She volunteered to go with SAFD and operate the ventilator for transfer. Our gratitude is beyond words. It definitely takes a special person to volunteer to do this especially outside of her scheduled shift and primary work environment.
