Annette went above and beyond! I came in at around 5:30 am with contractions. I had lost my daughter at 23 weeks the year prior so I was very nervous and Annette was just what I needed. She was so kind and she made me feel like I had a friend with me. We laughed and shared stories while she helped get me settled and checked in. We got on the topic of her baking and she told me that her shift was ending at 7:30 am but she would be back at 7:30 to cover an evening shift for a coworker. I jokingly told her, “see you when you get back with my cake”. I labored for about 16hrs and around 6 pm it was time to push. Annette found out I was having my baby and came into the room, before her shift at 7 pm to welcome my daughter into the world at 7:18. I have chills just writing this. I was a mom, who lost her daughter, having another daughter just 14mo later, in the middle of a pandemic and not having my mom with me to help me through it. She stepped into that loving motherly role with ease. She loved on me and made my husband and me feel like we had a family member with us. Here’s the kicker… she brought me a cake! She went home after just working a long shift, made me a cake on her “break” and started another long shift to help a coworker. Seriously, WOW. Annette is amazing and I don’t know how I could ever thank her for her love and care. She took amazing care of me and I will never forget her. We love you, Annette!
