If you know Dina, you know she cares deeply about “doing the right thing” and "putting people first.”
Dina transitioned from her role as a PACU RN into Clinical Practice Leader of APU, PACU, and the OR in January of 2020. She wasted no time diving in headfirst and identifying areas of opportunity in peri-op. If you know Dina, you know she cares deeply about “doing the right thing” and "putting people first.” She lives these values every day and is a true role model for all of the staff on our team.
Dina works very hard to motivate the staff and empowers them to advance in their professional nursing practice. We have seen increased certifications and have nurses continuing their education as Dina is constantly promoting and encouraging the staff to take their knowledge to the next level. She also is a great supporter of shared governance and works hard with our peri-op group to promote positive changes in their nursing practice. It has been a great collaboration of health care professionals working together to share a common goal.
Our most recent project is our hand-off tool that follows the patient through the phases of care to bridge communication gaps and promote an environment of high-quality, safe care with interdisciplinary collaboration. Dina understands the importance of communication and has worked tirelessly to create a peri-op community via my Jeff Hub. This space is a resource for the staff comprised of our unit-specific policies and procedures, along with any critical updates or changes we need to know.
Dina is a leader who shows up and gives 100% every single day. It is not uncommon to see her jump in and help out with patient care or assist the staff with questions or concerns throughout the day. No matter the day or time, she is always there. Dina works hard and never lets adversities along the way stop her from achieving her goals or the goals of our team. I am fully convinced there is nothing Dina cannot do. I am so grateful for the person Dina is and feel that her values and integrity make me a better leader for our team. Dina is a true DAISY Nurse and we are so lucky to have her as our Clinical Practice Leader in peri-op. Thank you for all you do!
