My family is no stranger to hospitals, and we have met hundreds of nurses. However, none of the nurses have stood out as much as Annalee. My mom has had a long medical journey, but Annalee makes sure that my mom is cared for. Annalee will talk to my mom and spend time getting to know her. She brightens the room with her infectious laugh and joy. These small moments uplift my mom enough for her to forget she has copious amounts of tubes coming out of her. Annalee was very attentive to my mom when she had a fever throughout the night, making my mom feel loved and cared for. Annalee was proactive and understood my mom’s needs through her previous observations and her empathy. While this was one instance I saw firsthand, I know Annalee has been selfless and compassionate many times before. My dad and I trust Annalee with my mom’s care, and she has rightfully earned that trust. Words cannot describe how thankful we are that Annalee is my mom’s nurse. While we don’t know how her cancer diagnosis will work out, I am confident having such an empathetic, passionate, and selfless nurse will help her in her recovery.
