Sheila will not let a patient go untreated. The clinic is Monday-Friday, but rarely does a weekend pass that she is not helping someone get antibody treatment.
Sheila Chancey's primary job is in the Heart Institute as a Nuclear Cardiology Nurse. For years she has been coming in to work at 5:00am to assist in the Pre-Operative area helping to get the early morning surgery patients ready for their first-start surgeries. During this COVID pandemic, she has been managing the monoclonal antibody infusion clinic working countless hours 6-7 days a week to assure everyone who could benefit from the infusion would have the opportunity. Sheila has recruited several persons to help her, and together they have prevented hundreds of patients from admission to the hospital. She is also a tremendous resource for those patients requiring more than antibodies or who could not receive antibodies because of their condition. She assists them in finding medical care either through the emergency department or local physicians. Sheila will not let a patient go untreated. The clinic is Monday-Friday, but rarely does a weekend pass that she is not helping someone get antibody treatment. She pulls help in from many areas to see this is done in a timely manner. We are so blessed to have her and her wonderful team giving of their time and talents to help now thousands to receive antibodies to speed recovery from their symptoms and prevent, in the majority of the cases, an admission to the hospital. This wonderful spirit of compassion and love for people is why I am so honored to have worked with Sheila for over thirty years.
