There was a patient who was here from the Rockford Rescue Mission Center. During his extended stay at SAH, he became concerned that his belongings would be discarded at the Mission Center. Well, he made mention of it to Alyssa and she drove down there in her spare time to gather what she could of his stuff. Turns out they tossed or lost a good chunk of his belongings already. She not only coordinated with staff at the Mission Center to try and recover the lost property but proceeded to go and shop online during her lunch break to provide this patient with clothes and basic amenities since he no longer had the stuff of his own. She packed a bag for him and handed it to him prior to leaving.

I think for someone that has concerns about whether she is doing the best thing she can as a nurse, she’s doing a stellar job. Despite the difficult times as a nurse recently and the burnout, Alyssa still found the drive to go above and beyond for a patient in a really difficult situation. She was able to supply him with 8 target bags, completely filled!
