Ms. Montel ensured that information was passed in the most respectful way that allowed the relatives to feel they were part of the patient care.
It has been a very busy year and many nurses deserve to be recognized for working out of their normal scope of practice. Ms. Montel has shown dedication to her Covid patients in ICU without fear ensuring her patients received the most optimal care that is possible during their time in Covid ICU.

Ms. Montel was nominated by her peers for this award due to her caring manner that has been noticed by her colleagues. All nurses are caring but a few go beyond to ensure not just the patient but their relatives feel included during this stressful time. Ms. Montel ensured that information was passed in the most respectful way that allowed the relatives to feel they were part of the patient care during this highly emotive time especially as they could not visit. This was completed in compliance with the hospital protocol for sharing information.

Kristin is also kind and caring to her colleagues ensuring they have their breaks at a reasonable time and ensuring their emotional wellbeing following tragedy in the unit. It is through these actions that she is a DAISY Nurse.
