DeAngela Brown, RN has recently joined our family here in the MRH Emergency Department. She has been such an asset to our team from day one, bringing her vast amount of nursing knowledge with her from her previous department, 2 Reid.

More recently, we have been challenged with making a few long-term patients feel more comfortable during their extended stay in our department; DeAngela has taken on the role of caring for these two adolescent patients. On Halloween day, De worked behind the scenes to arrange a "trick-or-treat" adventure within the department, allowing the patients to have a childhood experience they would've been missing this year. After ending a 7a-1p shift today, De returned with lunch for the 2 patients and shared a meal with them, all on her own time. First thing this morning, De checked on the patients and made sure they were doing okay. DeAngela has truly shown how you can turn a tough emotional nursing challenge into a positive and rewarding experience for all. Kudos to DeAngela and we are so thankful she has decided to join our team here in the ED.
